Calesha Mitchell

Calesha Mitchell is a business and finance transformation advisory professional with over 12 years of specialized experience. A natural leader, Calesha utilizes her competitive drive, superior analytical, strategic planning, and creative skills to provide an industry-focused approach to help provide an informed perspective on the industry issues and complex market challenges her clients face. As a result, Calesha helps international and domestic government clients (state and local, federal and defense) take advantage of change – instead of simply reacting to it – giving them the ability to transform disruptive forces into measurable and sustainable value.

Prior to joining 2GIP, as a financial advisory consultant, Ms. Mitchell led the Department of Labor with the development and application of business strategies to improve their FY 2009 and FY 2010 financial and operational performance, and establishment of a more robust and effective governance structure. In chorus, she provided client-specific attestation services, to include the comparative analysis of principal reporting and control frameworks; guidance with control descriptions; design of suitability reviews; snapshot testing of operating effectiveness; and assistance with remediation of controls, to an information technology company providing infrastructure convergence and shared services to the federal sector. In addition, Ms. Mitchell aided in the assessment of existing Department of Defense business and system processes (to include the application of current and emerging policies as they apply to DOD guidance on complex accounting and accountability issues across the spectrum of the Defense Components), to identify compliance risks and document key business processes and controls, determine the greatest opportunity for improved stewardship and financial reporting, and drive the “as-is” and “future-state” analysis.

Throughout all of her engagements, Ms. Mitchell employs a customer-centric approach to ensure that constituent voices and viewpoints become an integral part of her recommendations and proposed solutions. She works closely with senior executives to identify challenges, align tasks and achieve sustainable results. Ms. Mitchell graduated with honors from the George Washington University with a master’s degree in Business Administration concentration Accountancy.  Calesha holds an undergraduate degree from Howard University in political science. She is also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt professional.  Ms. Mitchell serves as a member of the YWCA National Capital Area’s Board of Directors.  She currently serves on the Sustainability Committee.
