Annette Stanley

Annette Stanley is a proven thought leader with over 15 years of Strategic Planning, Organizational Design, Design Thinking, Change Management and Communications expertise. As a consultant, Ms. Stanley is focused on providing advisory services to CEOs and members of the executive suite, across various arenas, including commercial and private enterprises, non-profit organizations, and governing Boards. Ms. Stanley has worked domestically and internationally with business leaders of America’s Fortune 100 companies and is masterful at identifying challenges, creating effective solutions and achieving break-through results for her clients.

Ms. Stanley began her career reporting directly to the CEO of the American Chemical Council and providing strategic planning services to executive officers at major petrochemical companies. Her career then progressed to include working with executives at major pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms (Pfizer, Inc, Allergan, Biogen Idec, et. al.), and within the banking industry (Bank of New York, ING Bank). She has worked with executives at Technicolor Entertainment Services, Delta Airlines and Columbia University, as well as with directors of government agencies (Department of Homeland Security, Health and Human Services, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Defense) and the White House. Additionally, Annette has provided pro-bono services to non-profit organizations, including the US Peace Corps, the BMW Foundation, New York City Charter School Center, YWCA’s National Capital Area, the Taproot Foundation, Girls, Inc., and College Summit.

From 2012 - 2016, Annette was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland, where she taught the capstone course in entrepreneurship and social enterprise through the Engineering Department's Entrepreneurship and Innovation program.

Annette holds dual masters degrees from Columbia University in NYC. She was conferred a MBA degree with a concentration in finance, strategy and international business, and a Master of International Affairs with a concentration in environmental policy. Annette holds an undergraduate degree from Hampton University in biology. She also holds certifications in design thinking and change management.

Ms. Stanley served as a member of the YWCA National Capital Area’s Board of Directors from 2007 - 2018. While on the Board, Ms. Stanley was the Chair of the Sustainability Committee, as well as the Chair of the Governance Committee.  Ms. Stanley is also the Co-Founder of Aspiring Women Now, an organization dedicated to supporting and advancing the aspirations of girls and women of color, through educational, career, and financial counseling and coaching.
